She's probably going to regret doing that.

So it's been awhile since I made any new linking banners. I've always kind of had a hard time thinking up good banners for this comic but I sat down and tried my hand at making a few new ones.

So.... Yea conclusion, I'm still sort of bad at making linking banners.

Sith in this game get clumsy a lot........

8th Feb 2016, 8:05 PM

Vader999

Despite being Sith, Steve and the others seem surprisingly absent-minded. My idea of a Sith is that of an evil zen/martial arts master with knowledge of his surroundings, kind of like the ones from the movies. Of the four Sith from the original six films, they all fought like master martial artists/fencers. Especially when you got to guys like Maul and Dooku, who were like the fighting prodigies of their time and would never get into a situation like this.

I guess that's the problem when you get Sith who are fresh off from the academy; they have all the bluster of a Sith Lord, without the experience or the mastery. Which makes taking care of them even more of a hassle. At the very least, neither the Imperial Royal Guard nor the 501st had to worry about Darth Sidious or Darth Vader biting off more than they can chew. Poor Salih.......

Greetings!

10th Feb 2016, 6:54 AM

Mendiloquence

Greetings! It's Mendiloquence. Yes, that Mendiloquence. I'll understand if you're taken aback by my presence. While you stand slack-jawed and dumbstruck by my magnificence, I'd like to address your point.

You are entirely right! The Sith in the movies are all zen martial art masters who fight with focus and finesse. You know what they also have in common? They all get murdered. By Jedi. JEDI. I mean, can you even imagine?

I'm sure you're wondering how someone as staggeringly powerful as a Sith could ever fall to a Jedi. Luckily, I'm here to tell you. Where do Sith derive our awesome powers from? Powerful emotions. And who are not particularly well known for their powerful emotions? Zen masters. To the contrary, zen martial arts masters practice controlling their emotions, focusing within themselves, awareness of self. Sounds a lot like Jedi “be mindful of your feelings Luke” nonsense to me.

I mean, Dooku's so damn serene in combat it's like he's having a stoic-off with the Jedi. So of course he lost, he's fighting on the Jedi's emotional home turf. And when exactly does he die? When little orphan Annie finally loses his cool and has an irrational, uncontrolled, emotional moment and lops off one too many of the Count's extremities. Because that's where our power lies. In that terrifyingly fragile emotional state where the fire burns so hot it's just about to run wild, and all it takes is the slightest provocation to set it off.

My friends and I go where our feelings take us. We experience every emotion to the very core of our being, be it rage or boredom or joy, or lust for blood or flesh or flame. We indulge our every selfish whim, and channel the emotional rush into the power to crush those who oppose us. Clumsy? Sure, why not. But we'll see who's laughing over a stack of artfully arranged corpses at the end of the day.

Greetings, Lord Mendiloquence.......

13th Feb 2016, 7:42 PM

Vader999

Greetings, Lord Mendiloquence. So glad to make your acquaintance.

However, I do have a point to make. While Sith are encouraged to bask in their emotions, there is a difference between "using your emotions as weapons" and "letting your emotions control you". It's the difference between being a droid's battery/power supply and a droid's brain chip. The Sith learn how to harness their emotions, to let anger, hatred, and vengeance run wild and make them strong. They are also trained, however, to use them.

Darth Sidious might have felt a tad bit incensed that Yoda almost killed him, but he did not let that interfere in his work as Emperor of the Galaxy. Darth Maul had nothing but contempt for Pre Vizsla, but he kept his emotions in check long enough so that he managed to use Vizsla's honor code to usurp Vizsla after the man finally became Mandalore. Darth Baras might get more than a tad bit peeved at your lordship, but he keeps his anger in check because he believes you to be useful. (However, I would caution you as to remember that he only sees you as temporarily useful. The moment you stop being useful....well, you'll see.....)

The point is, a great Sith not only allows his emotions to flow through him, but it also means that he keeps them in check and uses them as weapons, not the other way around. Every action must be precise, calculated moments of strength and victory, not callous slaughters on a whim that might backfire on the long run. I'm sure Sidious would have liked to indulge himself after a hard day's work by just going to the Coruscant undercity and murdering people for some stress relief, but he knows he has an image to keep, so he refrains from that. Aside from your master, Darth Baras, we also have Darth Jadus, who was known to be enigmatic and refraining from the wild emotions that usually fuel the Dark Side. He was known as one of the strongest Dark Council members before his tragic "accident".

Speaking of Lord Jadus, I should warn you to keep an eye on Salih. Her former master was practically the strongest Sith Lord on the Council, stronger than even your master's master. I highly doubt he died on the "explosion" of the starship Dominator caused by a "terrorist attack". After he supposedly "died", his rivals began tearing each other apart for his resources, making themselves weaker in the process-something Jadus would have undoubtedly favored. That loopy daughter of his seems to be there to keep them distracted. Keep your eyes peeled, my lord. I smell treachery. If Lord Jadus still lives, he will undoubtedly use the likes of Salih to undermine the Dark Council. Do not be fooled her "humble reasonable girl" attitude. Do not, under any circumstances, let her out of your sight. A good Sith always keeps his eyes on his "friends". Because you never know when treachery lurks about.......and it's better to betray the world than for the world to betray you.

I don't know what to tell you. Everything loads the same in fire fox, Chrome and Explore on my computer and Safari on my phone. I couldn't find anything different in the code that would account for the discrepancy.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Adblock does seem to be the culprit. Now I'm wondering why, of 4 jpgs all hosted in the same place, Adblock blocks the 1st, 2nd, and 4th one and lets the 3rd through?

Apparently, Adblock just really, really likes Trandoshan Knife Fights. Of course, doesn't everyone?

end of message

13th Feb 2016, 7:28 PM

msanthrope

Guessing that the text is what is triggering Adblock since the blocked banners all have "Imperial Entanglements" as the first words... OTH BioWare should recognize that even Adblock wants more knifefight!

(Hi Mendy!)

end of message

13th Feb 2016, 11:35 PM

Cobra Commander

Adblock can't do that: the text is merely a graphical part of the jpg file rather than an actual text element, so Adblock has no way to "read" it to know that it's there. It looks like EasyList filter within Adblock will block ads with the text string -728x90, which is in the file name of the three blocked banners. The knife fight banner's jpg file name ends with "784x90" which is not blocked. Now you know. And knowing is half the battle!

In the game, I've never had a group member die because s/he was sightseeing on the bridge for too long. Usually they die because they rush to cross the bridge while it is red.

Speaking of that bridge, let's not forget the two turrets that guard it.

"Let me cc one of the turrets"
"Don't break cc!"
"Don't AoE!"
"Arrrgggghhh!"
